About me

Hi, I'm Corey and I'm an expert at getting small teams to do great things, empowering all levels of engineers through simple and readable code.

Over my career, I have worked mostly in startups where I had to become an expert in many roles. This gave me a distinct advantage when it comes to building great products. I can focus on what is best for the whole product, not just one part. Depending on the day, I am a:

  • UI/UX Designer
  • Full-Stack Engineer
  • Software Architect
  • Product Manager
  • Engineering Manager

Startup Experience

I recently built Arsenal, the intelligent camera assistant. It was an ambitious project that unlocked the full potential of a DSLR camera, utilizing AI to dynamically fine tune your DSLR camera settings. As the first engineer, I built out the marketing site, ecommerce store, Arsenal IOT device, and Android/IOS apps to connect to the device. After just one year, the company soared to over $15 million in sales!

Before Arsenal, I was the Director of Engineering and Design at Forever. I recruited over 20 engineers, pivoted the product plan and quickly grew Forever to store billions of customer photos and print projects. I then created an infinitely scalable photo storage API to effortlessly handle all of those photos.

In my early career, I was a partner in a consultancy that rapidly built apps for small startups and large enterprise companies like UPMC. This gave me the opportunity to try out most engineering tools and learn which tools worked best in different situations. I eventually became an expert in scalability, improving UX and solving complex business problems with simple solutions.
